Sydney at camp

Day camp

Dates:  June 23-27 (full) , July 28-Aug. 1 (full) If there is enough interest, I'll run one July 7-11th - please contact Hannah

 Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Cost: $400 per person/per week for day camp

* A hot home-cooked lunch is provided.

Description: Each day the children start off by catching, grooming, tacking, and riding their horse. Each child is assigned a horse for the week based on riding skills and temperament. We spend most of the morning riding (English or Western). After lunch there is a "cool down" period in which arts, crafts, and horse related topics are covered. Wednesday night we have an optional sleepover . Thursday morning, we trail ride around here and then go over to a friend's pool to cool off. Friday, we have a horse show for the parents at 1:00, as we conclude our week at camp.

Kadie and Amber

"Mini" Camp

Date: May 26-28, June 4-6

These camps are limited to 8 kids.

 Cost: $200 per person.

Time: 9:00 - 12:00

Mini camp is a wonderful way for kids to get an intensive amount of training but only have a small amount of time available. This camp is for any age group and any level of rider, although many kids tend to be experienced.

Dawson Forest camp

Description: This camp will be Thurs - Sat. Aug. 2-4. Kids will arrive at 9:00 Thurs. AM and we'll pack for the Forest. We'll spend Thurs. night up there and Friday night, Saturday morning, we tear down camp and come home.. Kids will go home Sat. at noon. We can have a max of 8 kids. We will be doing an enormous amount of cross country riding, so the kids have to be able to ride - must be comfortable with walk/trot/canter. We'll be exploring the 10,000 acre preserve and playing in the river. Hannah will act as trail guide. Kids must be at least 9 to come to this camp (or have 3 years of regular weekly lessons)

Date: July 24-26 (4 spots left)

       Cost: $400

Normal Overnight camp:

         Date: anyone interested?

Price $950. We must have 6 kids in order to run the camp with a maximum of 8. This is for kids ages 8-18.

Description: Kids arrive Sunday evening at 7:00. After they check into their room (stay in a historic, pre-Civil war family home), we settle in and have a camp meeting. The rest of the week the children get to experience how a farm operates (i.e. feeding horses, cleaning stalls, riding, tack cleaning, etc.) as well as other exciting actives such as games, arts/crafts, and nature awareness. We go to Dawson Forest and spend the night with horses, then ride the following day, and we'll ride twice each day in a lesson format (you'd be welcome to bring your own horse - about 5 hours of riding each day). We haven't offered this camp in a while, so this should be fun. We'll have a guest trainer to come teach one day as well.. Saturday morning we have a horse show for the parents and go home. Due to the enormous amount of time spent riding, we highly recommend that campers know how to trot (with diagonals) and be ideally comfortable with cantering.

* Home cooked meals are served 3 times per day as well as snacks in between meals for the overnight camp. (Many kids rate the food as one of  their favorite thing at camp.)

Morning camp

Dates:

Cost: $70 per day per child

Description: Is for one day only and is for all levels of riders. We'll work on each rider to improve their skills. There is a 4 person minimum for each camp.
