Horse Club
Horse Club is only for students of WildeWood Farm expanding their ground knowledge of horses. There will be very little riding, if any for now. Most of the work with the horses will be done on the ground. The club is for boys and girls ages 8 - 18. Horse club is basically Horse 101 - and covers all the stuff that we don't get to do in lessons as there isn't enough time.
New students can only be added at the first session of a semester. If you miss a session, you are responsible for getting the notes from one of the other members of the group.
Every time we meet, we take notes plus do a variety of demos. Then after we finish taking all our notes on that level we have a final over them. The test are not just fill in the blank test, they are short answer essays, compare and contrast essays and much more. As you can tell, we don't just play with ponies, we work hard for our grade to help with our future.
I would encourage anyone who wants to join Horse Club because you can NEVER know it all. You will always learn something new."
Please
put our club’s dates on your calendar. You don’t want to miss any!
Remember to bring your binder, paper, and something to write with to every club meeting. Wear your boots, but riding clothes aren’t necessary.
We're going to start horse club Tues. Jan. 2nd at 1:00 for new members (level 1) and 2:00 for returning members. Club will end at 3:00. Normally, club is on Saturday, but I wanted to get us in before school started back.
If many of my returning students CAN NOT come at this time, let me know and we'll see what we can work out.Club has 5 levels and each level must be passed with a 75% in order to proceed to the next level. It's very intense and is not for the weak hearted. We do practical work as well as theory. Most of time is spent taking notes or practicing what we learned. Your student must be 8 years old, and even then it's NOT easy. They have to be able to write fast or learn quickly by hearing it.
We only accept people the first session of each semester. Semesters run Jan. - May and Aug. - Nov.
The cost is $45 initial enrolement and $10 each session.
We meet once a month for 2 hours. You'll need a binder and something to write with. We meet outside - so dress warmly.
An overall passing grade of 75% will be required to progress to the next level. As the club progresses, you may have to write a few projects relating to horses. Remember to study!
