Monty Roberts Join-Up® Clinics

Join us to learn the Monty Roberts language of "Equus". 3 day clinics are now being offered. Hannah Campbell will be teaching the basics of Monty's revolutionary Join-Up® technique, with both un-started and remedial horses. Monty has developed this unique concept and methodology over many years. The title of his book, "The Man Who Listens To Horses," reminds us that the results we see will be dictated by our own ability to learn "Equus," the language of horses. An open mind and realistic goals are important when participating in these clinics. People from all over the country are attending these Join-Up® clinics and going home with more knowledge and understanding of "Equus" than they ever thought possible.

Participants will be introduced to Monty's Join-Up® method of starting young horses to saddle, bridle and rider. Students will be introduced to the silent language of horses that Monty calls "Equus." We will use a variety of horses to demonstrate training techniques. This provides an excellent opportunity to learn how the basics of Join-Up® applies to all horses. In addition to following the horse through initial training, participants will learn to apply Monty's Join-Up® method to horses with special problems. Students will learn to identify the source of the problems and the concepts behind the techniques used to address the problems. Participants will work individually in the round pen progressing through the stages of training using Join-Up® as the foundation of their program. The focus will be on developing technique, encountering new issues, and achieving solutions. Participants with horses will work in the round pen under the direction of the Join-Up® team. Helmets are required for participants working in the round pen. Due to clinic time constraints, there is no guarantee as to a specific amount of time a participant will spend with round pen instruction. Please bring an approved riding helmet (we won't be riding, but we will be working with horses), and pen and paper. You may bring tape recorders, cameras, and video equipment.

Participants may attend these clinics with or without their own horses. We encourage clinic participants to bring horses of any breed, or discipline to learn the Join-Up® technique. Inexperienced persons wanting to learn this method to start horses are recommended to bring an older, mature schooled horse to initially learn the steps and refine techniques in starting a horse safely. If you are bringing your own horse, arrangements must be made with the clinic coordinator on an individual basis.
