Hannah and the wild BLM mustang stallion - Dreamcatcher
The horses here are in training,
a part of our breeding program, or are school horses. Horses are
trained in both English and Western disciplines from the ground up. Many
of the horses here are youngsters/starters, generally 2 - 3 year olds.
We teach ground manners, start horses under saddle, and school for
higher levels of riding for example, hunter, western, dressage,
endurance, and pleasure riding. The last month of training also includes 2 free "lessons" for the owner. You need to know how to continue the training (especially with problem horses) so that the horses don't revert back to their previous behaviors when they go home.
Working with a serious ground manners/trailer loading issue at a clinic in OH We accept all major credit cards. We recommend that horses being started under saddle stay for at least 3 months (depends on how much the owner can do once the horse goes home), and remedial horses (depending on their issues) stay for a minimum of 2 months. Training is $725 per month (includes feed twice a day, and all the hay they can eat) or $875 per month if your horse is stalled. The owner is responsible for outside professional services such as the vet and farrier. At the end of each horse's training, we HIGHLY recommend that the owner come and learn how to continue with the horse. Special Spring discount - take $25 off the first month of training for incoming horses. Note: We also train stallions. Due to a stallion's special requirements, stallions must be in full board (stalled half the day and out half the day) to ensure everyone's safely. We stay very busy so please contact us a month or two before you want your horse trained.
Hannah working with Chili and "Slim". We have experience with many different breeds including but not limited to Arabians, Appaloosas, Belgians, Connemaras, Clydesdales, Dutch warm-bloods, Friesians, Gypsy Vanners, Hanoverians, Holstieners, Morgans, Mustangs, Percherons, Oldenburgs, Paints, Paso Finos, Quarter Horses, Racking horses, Spotted Saddle horses, Standardbreds, Tennessee Walking Horses, Thoroughbreds, and many crosses.
"Problem Horses" are our "other" specialty. Examples of corrective training include but not limited to: bucking, biting, disrespect of owners, farrier issues, kicking, rearing, tying, and trailer loading. The methods used to correct these inappropriate habits are gentle and humane. This means that the horses learn to trust and respect their owner instead of fearing punishment. We highly recommend that the owner learns these methods before the horse returns home, so that the horse doesn't slip back into old habits.

The training is based on the "Campbell 3 C's". Calm: horses learn in a quiet, safe environment. As Monty Roberts says, "Adrenalin up, learning down. Adrenalin down, learning up." Clear: steps are broken down into small, achievable steps. Many horses resist learning as the tasks are too difficult to attempt. Concise: Do it until they get it right, then stop. Don't waste time in boring, repetitious exercises - move on. Our trainers: Hannah and Blitz walking in the snow. Hannah Campbell, the head trainer/owner, has been actively training starters and problem horses since she was a child on her parents ranch, and has been training horses here in the U.S.A. since 1995. She has great compassion and "feel" for these wonderful creatures as well as their owners and works very diligently in creating the best learning environment for both. Horses are worked with very patiently and each horse is treated with dignity, kindness, and as an individual. No two horses can be trained exactly the same as each learn at a slightly different pace. Go to our "what other's say" page and see what our clients have said about our training. Hannah's mentors/celebrity instructors include: Monty Roberts, Charles de Kunffy, Anky van Grunsven, George Morris, and Margie Goldstein Engle to name a few. Due to Hannah's very busy teaching/showing schedule, she can rarely train horses off the farm.
Michael and Fury working on leadership in the round pen Michael Brooks has been working here since Oct. of 2005. He's actively pursuing his training career and became a life-long horse enthusiast while working with his family's horses as a child. Michael has an amazing affinity with the horses and kindness for the people that work with him. As well as training with Hannah, he also maintains the grounds, works at camp, helps with lessons/shows, and any other jobs that need attention. He is an avid student; his most influential clinicians include: Clinton Anderson, Monty Roberts, Chris Cox, Craig Cameron, and Dennis Reis.
